End NPC: Mel Quest text: Mel: This whole town is a slave to the drug trade. Everyone lives in fear of the mayor and his cronies; those who stand up to him are killed, and their children... their children are sent off with the cultists. Mel: I've heard the crying from the mayor's home. He keeps them locked up there, pacified with the powder, until the priestesses come to collect them for their sarifices. It's horrifying. Mel: But if you could destroy the source of the drug, his henchmen would revolt! I might even be able to use the ensuing chaos to escape this place unnoticed... and to help those children escape, too. Mel: The mayor's men get the powder from the Glowing Carapaces in Shadowcopse. Destroy them, and his whole operation will fall apart. But watch out: the powder can have dangerous and unexpected effects in its pure form. Be careful, okay? Mel: The Glowing Carapaces are destroyed? Good. In a few days' time, the mayor's goons will be a delusional mess. Now all I need is some way to get them away from those children. |
