Main Questline

So im lvl 2 Ancestral and im doing the quest "An ominous cave". I collected the purifying energy and accidentally throwed it in the wrong place, now I don´t know that to do because it keeps saying me that I have to collect it but the statues doesnt let me do that. either the statues in the midle of the ritual or the ones outside the camp. ¿Is it a bug or am I just stupid?
