End NPC: 0 Quest text: Louisa: You arrived just a moment too late to see our super secret Ipnysh Warden handshake, which we use to identify ourselves, Player! These two are Orel and Ethan. Yesao: Super secret handshake? What… ugh, never mind. I'm pleased to meet you, Player and do forgive my rude tone earlier. I am Orel, but I'd prefer it if you could refer to me as Yesao. Timbo: I must have missed that handshake too, but it's good to meet you! Our new friends here told us that you are a true friend of the Ipnysh Wardens and wish to help us find the source of the recent troubles here in the Ipnya Ridge. Call me Timbo, please. Louisa: Ha ha ha, it was a joke. Of course there is no secret handshake, I was just messing with Player. It's true however, that all three of us have witnessed troubling changes in the Ipnysh Sanctuary that Ardios protects, and the Mysthrane Gorge which I am in charge of. Timbo: Troubles at both the Ipnysh Sanctuary and in the Mysthrane Gorge? Were you able to identify the source of all these problems during your time there? Timbo: Much has changed here in the Ipnya Ridge as well. I arrived by boat and travelled through the Titan's Maw to get here and what I saw is far from normal for these lands. Ardios: The most recent troubles were in the Mysthrane Gorge and we are certain that all of it is due to the Akasch. In fact, one of what we believe to be a leader of sorts named Nehliya, even managed to create an interdimensional portal and appears there from time to time now. Timbo: A real Akasch, in the flesh, appeared in Mysthrane?! Mother save us all, so the Ipnysh sealstones can no longer protect us? Louisa: Yes, she's a real Akasch and while the sealstones still maintain some of their magic, they have been greatly weakened. Neither I, nor Ardios possess the arcane powers to reinforce the seals. Louisa: We must assume that it is only a matter of time until more of them squeeze themselves through that portal. We thought ourselves in control of the situation though, since she only every appeared in one specific location. Louisa: But my confidence in our control over the situation quickly faded, once we saw what's happening here, from the top of the Ethereal Haven. Yesao: The Ethereal Haven? You managed to find a way up there? What did you see? Ardios: Yes, we restored an ancient teleporter to make our way up there, in hopes to better assess just how dire the situation is. Unfortunately, not only the Ipnya Ridge is in much worse shape than we expected, the Haven itself has changed dramatically as well. Louisa: I hate to be the person that suggests it, since I really don't want to use that teleporter again, but perhaps it's best if we all go back up there, so Yesao and Timbo can look for themselves. Timbo: I'd be glad to go. We might gain some new insights if we visit the Haven and combine our minds, but before we go, we should leave a message of sorts here at the Memorial, in case more Wardens felt the call to come. Louisa: That's a good idea. We found Yesao's message and no offense buddy, but it was so cryptic we nearly ignored it altogether. We should write something a bit more telling that "I'm here". Yesao: What message? I didn't leave any messages anywhere, in fact I had just arrived when Player found me paying my respects at the Memorial Monument. Ardios: What? Neither of you left that message? Then perhaps there's another Warden around. Player, do you happen to carry any sharp objects we can use to cave another note? Ardios: Alright, let's define which areas we've searched so far, so we can narrow down where to search for this other Ipnysh Warden. Ardios: I was referring to your blade, but that rock should work as well. Yesao: With all the hostile creatures lurking in these lands, you wouldn't want Player to ruin their blade over a crude carving. I agree with their assessment and the rock will have to do. Timbo: Another joke perhaps? Like the secret handshake? It appears both Ardios and Louisa enjoy to tease their friend. Yesao: I understand. I shall indulge their humor and do my best to offer such… delightful contributions as well. Ardios: Everyone can use a little laugh, from time to time. Yesao, knock, knock… Louisa: That's your cue, Yesao! Ardios is knocking at your door and you have to respond "Who's there?" Yesao: Ardios is knocking at my door? That seems unlikely. We have just become acquainted, therefore I highly doubt he is aware where I reside. Timbo: … Louisa: It's part of a joke. Ardios says "knock knock" and then you answer "who's there?" and then Ardios says something like… Ardios: You can teach him how to tell knock knock jokes on the way to the Ethereal Haven, Louisa. I just remembered that I only created three Teleport Rocks, so the three of you should head to the Haven while Player and I try to find this other Warden. Louisa: What? You're making ME use that damn thing again? Ardios: Player is the person that found the other two Wardens, so we need them here to continue searching for the third one and I am taller than you and have elven eyes, so generally speaking, I have higher chances at succeeding at this task. Louisa: Fine, I'll go to the darn Haven! Come on, Yesao and Timbo, we have to walk to the Gleaming Grove to use the teleporter. "I am taller than you, bla bla blaaaa…" |
