| Quest stages: Purchase a Barley Seed from a Seed Merchant and plant it, then harvest it when it is fully grown.
End NPC: Merchant Recruiter Quest text: Merchant Recruiter: So how was it? Do you think you've got the patience for planting? Merchant Recruiter: Anyway. First thing's first. Why don't we teach you how to grow Barley next? Barley is an especially useful crop, because it's used to feed Chickens and Turkeys. Merchant Recruiter: Just like the Potato, you can purchase Barley Seeds from the Seed Merchant on the public farm. Merchant Recruiter: Buy the seed, plant it on the farm, and water it at least once to speed up its growth. Then, while it's growing, come back to me if you want to continue your training. Merchant Recruiter: And if you do feel compelled to go off on an adventure or two, remember: your plants are only safe here for three days! Come back and harvest them in time, or someone else will. Merchant Recruiter: Some people think farming is a waste of time. They only see the glory in hunting and killing monsters. But it is the patient craftsman who truly learns the way of the world, honing his trade a little more each time he returns to town. Merchant Recruiter: Stick with it, and you'll see more of the world than they ever will. You'll be building your empire and sailing the seas while those so-called heroes are still out chasing Groundlings! Merchant Recruiter: Ahem. Sorry. Sometimes I get a little worked up.
