| Full text The mountain at Exeloch was supposedly the grave of a mysterious city, long-buried.Its evil was legendary, as was its beauty. Everything in the city, from roads to buildings, was perfectly symmetrical. Every flat surface was ornate with intricate, geometric carvings. Some of the interconnected reliefs seemed to depict highly-stylized spirals or snakes. Mathematicians the world over traveled to see the city, or even live on its outskirts. However, none of them dared journey too deep within it--everyone who'd tried had never been seen again.The clans living near the buried city remained primitive and barbaric; rumors said they were unable to grow civilized because they'd absorbed so much of the city's negative energy. The Arasha were the largest clan, based around an outpost they called Danji. They maintained a matriarchal society ruled by a queen and her priestesses. Nearby Epherium had conquered the Arasha numerous times, but the clan was nothing if not resilient. Furthermore, no matter what Epherium tried, it couldn't alter the matriarchal structure of the primitive clan's society. | |||
