Can only be used on Legendary Berserk Red Dragon Weapons.
Successful awakening can cause equipment with tempering points above +20 to loose up to +-2 points, but won't drop the item below +20.
A failure in awakening always results a crystallization.

Exactly how do you obtain these? There is zero info available anywhere. I know they exist because one is in the auction house, but no recipe to make it and no info on where to get it.

I've checked for it and there are zero references to it in the client. Which leads me to a thought, that it's either shop/event or some rare drop item, info for which is stored on the server side only.
