End NPC: Jailer William Wyrdwind Quest text: Jailer William Wyrdwind: I met Gregor's daughter after the trial... She claimed her father had paid the rent and had no reason to murder Maxim. She said the payment was recorded in Gregor's Ledger. Jailer William Wyrdwind: The ledger goes back years. Maxim would have signed it to show he'd received payment. But the ledger vanished. Jailer William Wyrdwind: If I was going to look for it, I'd check the crime scene. Gregor always had that book on him; perhaps, in the chaos of the arrest, he dropped it. Jailer William Wyrdwind: Take care, though. That's a dangerous area. Even moreso if it's true the real murderer has yet to be caught. Jailer William Wyrdwind: If you find any evidence pointing to another murderer, be sure it can positively prove their identities. I don't want us going through all of this again. Jailer William Wyrdwind: I can't believe it--we can request a retrial! Gregor might not have been lying... he really might be innocent. |
