| Start NPC: Defendant Marssen Quest stages: Show Marssen's Affidavit to Austeran citizens and ask them to sign the Citizens' Petition.
End NPC: Judge Quest text: Defendant Marssen: I wasn't trying to help a pirate; I was hoping to kill a pirate by selling him faulty wares. Jura wanted to watch, and I guess it got him killed. Defendant Marssen: I feel terrible about Jura's death. I want to help his family. I can't bring Jura back, but I could at least do some good in his name. Defendant Marssen: I've written this confession with the help of a guard. Can you show it to some of my fellow citizens? Defendant Marssen: If they sign a petition, the judge will revisit my sentence. Perhaps he'll allow me to do something with the rest of my life, besides spending it in chains. Judge: A Citizens' Petition, eh? Well, Marssen can't go unpunished. Whatever his motivations, he deliberately sold a faulty weapon, and he sold it to known pirates. But I'm not heartless; I want to give him a chance. Judge: I believe you've served justice, Player, and justice is a slippery beast to serve. I'd like to officially qualify you to be a juror. I think you'll do a fine job. |
