Trading Guide Edward: Farming and crafting is all well and good, but the Brotherhood's real money comes from trading specialty goods.
Trading Guide Edward: Each region has its own goods, which can only be crafted at that region's Specialty Workbench. Since they can only be made there, they're in greater demand as you travel further away from the area.
Trading Guide Edward: All specialties crafted on Nuia are eventually carried to the Trade Outlets along the coast. From there they are converted into cargo, to be shipped across the sea for precious crafting materials!
Trading Guide Edward: Seeing as this will be your first trade run with us, why don't we start you off with something easy?
Trading Guide Edward: Travel to Dewstone Plans, and speak with Community Center Manager Bain in Sandcloud. He'll instruct you on the basics of crafting a specialty trade pack, and tell you where to deliver it to earn a profit.Step 1: What's Trading?
Trading is the process of crafting or purchasing valuable trade packs and delivering them to a new destination to sell.Step 2: Crafting Specialties
Specialties are the basic form of trade pack. They are crafted at the Specialty Workbenches found in each region's Housing Provinces. Every region has its own specialties. All specialties are carried in trade packs, which are heavy backpacks that prevent gliding and reduce movement speed. To speed up deliveries, you may use transportation such as carriages, boats, and airships while carrying trade packs.Step 3: Selling Specialties
Specialties are sold to Specialty Buyers, which can be found at the Trade Outlets at major coastal cities. Nuia's Trade Outlets are located in Solzreed Peninsula, Two Crowns, and Cinderstone Moor. The amount of gold a Specialty Buyer pays for each specialty depends on how far away it was crafted, how long it took to be delivered, and how much of that specialty the buyer has recently received.Specialties can only be sold for gold. When enough specialties are sold at a Trade Outlet, it will produce Cargo that can be shipped across the ocean to earn Onyx Archeum Essences. To view the complete list of specialty packs, check the Commerce section of your Folio.
Community Center Manager Bain: Hello there! I hear you're looking to learn the basics of trading. In fact, the Blue Salt Brotherhood has arranged for a little surprise to help you on your first official trade run...
Community Center Manager Bain: It's a donkey! Donkeys are a boon to traders. Raise this one right, and it'll be able to carry you and your trade packs faster than any other animal on Nuia. Sure beats walking, right?
