End NPC: Clipton Quest text: Clipton: Now that you mention it, a couple'a rough-lookin' goons came around not long ago lookin' for Padrick. Clipton: Said he was some kind'a "dangerous criminal," and I'd be doing my "civic duty" if I turned him in next time I saw him. Clipton: I told 'em where they could stick their civic duty. Padrick was a strange duck, don't get me wrong. But he did right by me during his time here. Clipton: So! You two are lookin' to catch some smugglers, are ya? Clipton: I won't ask why, 'course. None of my business. But you're gonna have to do your own dirty work. My back-alley brawlin' days are over. Clipton: But as it just so happens, I DID see a rather suspicious-lookin' ship head out of here a couple'a days ago. Clipton: Nothin' on any of the official records, and no manifest to show their cargo. 'Slike they didn't exist. Clipton: A shady bloke by the name of Letos seemed to be in charge of it. If there's anyone that knows who or what was on that ship, he'd be the one to ask. Clipton: Since Eldris is sentenced to death by the Chaotic Sabre, he cannot do anything on his own. Please help him. Clipton: You'll find Letos on the upper courtyard, overlooking the harbor. Not many guards up there, so you'll be on your own if things go sideways on ya. Clipton: You find anything of interest, you bring it back to me, yeah? Clipton: I can probably decipher it, long as you don't tell me where it came from. I'm an honest business man, after all. Clipton: Hmm... this looks like a normal ledger, but these totals don't make any sense for the items listed. Must be a code of some kind. |
