End NPC: Silent Watcher Quest text: Belstrom: Many come to me seeking to increase their power. They wish to learn the old ways of the Ayanad Mages, that they might wield their spells in modern day. But knowledge of that kind takes years, and few have the patience. Belstrom: I know of another, though. A student of the Archmage Alexander, sent to the Karkasse Ridgelands to help guide worthy heroes. Perhaps he would know of some way to further augment your strength. Wanderer Arde: Belstrom sent you? I'm sorry, traveler. There are few powers greater than the Ayanad Mages. It took a direct assault by Kyrios himself to finally topple their library. Aside from him, the only thing that could possibly compare is... hmm... Wanderer Arde: Orchidna. The "Demon Queen." Even when Orchidna was a young woman in Delphinad, the Archmage spoke of her with a hint of awe in his voice. He refused to teach her, for fear of what she might become. Wanderer Arde: She is certainly no friend to Kyrios. But I have no idea where she is now, or even if she still lives. Your only hope of finding her would be to ask the Silent Watcher in the Golden Ruins. And his advice is often... less than helpful. Silent Watcher: Greetings, mortal. Have you come seeking the wisdom of the watchers? Does a thread once more attempt to comprehend the loom? Silent Watcher: I see you, as I see all things. What is, what was, and what may yet come to pass. Silent Watcher: You seek the strength to defeat rage, but in doing so turn to hatred. To snuff out flame with shadows. Silent Watcher: It is a twisted thread you follow. But I will help you, if I can. |
