End NPC: Maynard
Quest text:
Scout Captain Camaro: At first, we sent Watchmen as far into Serpentis as we could. Trying to clear the place out, make the surrounding lands safe to settle. But the more time our men spent in there, the more they were... affected.
Scout Captain Camaro: It was Drillmaster Rhiona who figured it out first. The temple seems to act as some sort of conduit, amplifying the whispers of the creatures trapped in the Abyss. Creatures the Naga worship as gods.
Scout Captain Camaro: Rhiona was one of the Children of Ipnya before she joined the Watch. They follow the teachings of the ancient Ipnysh, who banished these "Lost Gods" thousands of years ago. She's in Diamond Shores, if you want to learn more.
Drillmaster Rhiona: The Children of Ipnya? Yes, they still exist!
Drillmaster Rhiona: The original Ipnysh existed thousands of years ago, even before the great kingdoms of old Auroria. They were holy warriors, who saved Erenor from the clutches of an ancient snake-like race known as the Akasch.
Drillmaster Rhiona: Using powerful magic, the Ipnysh bound the Akasch in a timeless void: the Abyss. If it weren't for their bravery, we would all be slaves of the vile serpents still. Our order attempts to carry on that noble tradition.
Drillmaster Rhiona: If you're interested in the Akasch, I highly recommend you speak to Maynard on Ynys Isle. He's an expert on the modern cults that worship them. Hope that helps!
Maynard: The Akasch? No, I wouldn't accept any power they offered for all the gold in Erenor. Their gifts are poison, meant only to enslave.
Maynard: The cults that worship the Akasch know them by many names: the Old Ones, the Serpents, the Lost Gods. The false prophet Calleil is one of their most dangerous servants. Everywhere he appears, he sows madness and death.
