He's always gone drinking somewhere. Reuben: I'm sure he's sitting on the beach somewhere, drinking and singing that blasted song. Reuben: Yeah, if you can't tell, we don't get along very well. I'm used to him being gone for long stretches of time, but this time, he was gone for almost a full year. Reuben: That's when he brought a bunch of that stuff you're asking about. Come to think of it, that's when his antics started. Reuben: He would go on and on about nonsense like curses and ghosts. He sold all the stuff he brought and now spends all the money on drinking. Reuben: He even blamed my mother's death on the curse. The truth is, she got sick from working too hard. Since the breadwinner was gone, she didn't have a choice. Reuben: I think I'm talking too much. Anyway, my father's always drinking at the beach. Look for him around Blueglass. Maybe the nearby islands, too. Lubelu: Oh, the sorrowful sea...so vast, so wide... |
