Cook Kurt is seeking forgivness for his past sins? Hmm, you must be talking about the Ezna Massacre. Cook Kurt: Yes. I know this all happened a long time ago and the Harani made us repent for our sins, but the guilt still remains. Nui's Shield Member Alana: I understand and what happened to those innocent people in Ezna was horrible. But your kind was brainwashed and controlled by an evil power. Nui's Shield Member Alana: The first and most important step to salvation, is to forgive yourself, Kurt, but I understand that this is easier said than done. Nui's Shield Member Alana: Trying to apologize to the victims of Ezna is a noble cause, but you understand that not all Wandering Souls here are who you're looking for? Nui's Shield Member Alana: I fear you are wasting your time, attempting to talk to just any soul you encounter, don't you agree? Cook Kurt: Perhaps you're right, but I can't let this chance go to waste. This is my only opportunity to make amends for what I've done.
