| Start NPC: Disguised Kurt Quest stages: Talk to Disguised Kurt at the small hill, west of Ezna. End NPC: 0 Quest text: Disguised Kurt: Completing the last quest in this questline will reduce the summoning cost of Cook Kurt by 1! Lady Marian, don't forget the letter. Marian Noryette: I won't, just give me one moment to talk to Fiona first. Fiona: A letter? And why do you want to talk to me? Why are we in this bath house? Marian Noryette: We are here so we can talk in private. I won't arrest you for what happened at the tavern, but I need you to answer some questions for me in return. Fiona: Alright, but I swear I didn't draw that stuff! Marian Noryette: It doesn't matter to me, Fiona, as long as you answer me truthfully. And I will know if you lie, so don't even try! Disguised Kurt: What... is she doing? Marian Noryette: Fiona, you are a descendant of a victim of the Ezna Massacre, is that right? Fiona: I am. My great grandparents lived in Ezna when the Warborn came. My great grandpa was killed, but my great grandma was able to flee. Marian Noryette: I see and what do you think of the Warborn today? Do you hate them? Do you wish they were all dead? Disguised Kurt: ... Fiona: What? I don't know any Warborn, so I don't know really? Fiona: I know my grandparents suffered a lot, because they both lost parents that day and even my parents still felt hate towards the Warborn. Fiona: But I heard that the Warborn were under a spell by some evil power and the only reason they did that, was because they were being controlled. Disguised Kurt: ... Marian Noryette: So how do you feel about them? Fiona: I think I feel sorry for them. Fiona: If it's true what people say, then they're immortal which means they had to live with this guilt for this long already. Fiona: People must be so mean to them, like all the time? Marian Noryette: And if you ever met a Waborn in person, what would you want to tell them? Fiona: That I'm not mad at them? And that I understand they didn't do it on purpose. Marian Noryette: If you ever met a Warborn in person, you would tell them that you forgive them for what happened in the past? Marian Noryette: You would want them to know, that although what they have done is horrible and caused a lot of pain, you understand they didn't do it under their free will? Marian Noryette: And that even though some people might still feel hate towards them, most affected by this have moved on with their lives? Fiona: Yes, I guess that's what I would tell them. Marian Noryette: That is good to know. I grew up learning about the history of Ezna myself and was scared of the Warborn when I was a child. Marian Noryette: But I eventually met some of them and saw that they are just normal people too. Some of them, I'm even lucky enough to call my friends now. Disguised Kurt: ... Marian Noryette: I'm sorry, I got a little carried away just now. Marian Noryette: Fiona, can I ask you to do me a favor? I'd like you to meet me west of Ezna later today. Marian Noryette: A friend of mine has something important to give to you and I'd like you to receive it from them directly. Fiona: Sure? But how do I find you? Marian Noryette: Just take the Ezna Road and go down the stairs on the left, at the first guard towers. We will be waiting for you on top of a small hill. Fiona: Ok, I can do that. Marian Noryette: Good, it's settled them. I'll start getting dressed and will head to the meeting spot shortly after. Take your time Fiona, and meet us whenever you're ready. Disguised Kurt: Fiona, I'm glad you made. You must excuse Marian, she didn't make it. Fiona: That's alright, you two are her guards, right? Fiona: Marian said her friend wanted to give me something important. Do you happen to have it? Disguised Kurt: Yes, it's a letter. Fiona: A letter? From who? Disguised Kurt: I'm not sure, but it must have been one of your ancestors that now found peace in the Hereafter. Here... Fiona: What? This handwriting... is it possible?! Fiona: This is a letter from my late grandmother. Where did you get this? Fiona: She was a fisherman and did everything she could to support her family. Fiona: But it was hard to make ends meet, so she kept going on more and more dangerous trips to reel in more valuable fish. Fiona: And then one day... she just didn't come home. Fiona: Without any income, it didn't take long for my grandfather to sell my mother into slavery. Fiona: You see my grandfather remembered what happened in Ezna and his health never recovered from it, so he was unfit to work. Fiona: But I never hated my grandma, I just always wished I knew what happened to her and this letter... Disguised Kurt: I'm sorry all this tragedy happened to your family, and all because of the Warborn. Disguised Kurt: If I could, I would gladly give my life, so your grandmother was still here and your grandfather never got sick. Disguised Kurt: I'm so sorry for all this hardship! Fiona: Wait, are you one of them? The Warborn? Please know that I forgive you, ok? I know it wasn't your fault! Disguised Kurt: ... |
