Quest text:
Ekkens: You might have heard of me before, I'm known as the King of Explosives within the circles of Andelph's engineers. Many called me a genius, surpassed only by Mikael Ynga himself, and I wore my title with pride.
Ekkens: People loved me for my innovative constructions, powered with my extraordinary blend of gunpowder and I didn't care who purchased them or what they did with them, as long as they'd continue to adore me.
Ekkens: That is until I heard that one of my recent custom commissions was stolen by a pirate called Morpheus, who put my most incredible piece of art to test by slaughtering dozens of innocent lives.
Ekkens: Among the people transporting this custom cannon I made, and being slaughtered on spot when Morpheus attacked, were 3 of my disciples. I was never blessed with a wife or children of my own, so those young people were the closest thing to family I ever had.
Ekkens: This is when I realized how shallow I had been and how irresponsible I was to blindly offer my services to anyone willing to praise my work. Who knows how many warmongers like the Pirate King I've already supplied with weapons of destruction.
Ekkens: I decided right there and then, that I'd never risk arming an evil person again, and instead would try to find peace for my wrongdoing. I joined this honorable organization that fights for good, and thus I offer my services exclusively to them.
Ekkens: Of course Morpheus didn't care about my moral change of heart and not long after the incident, I received more orders for those handheld cannons, this time from the Pirate King himself.
Ekkens: When I refused the order, he started sending his henchmen to assault my various workshops on Nuia and Haranya and soon after, I even had the city guard starting to show up at my door.
Ekkens: I discontinued all my work on spot, gave my fortune to my disciples to start a new life and plead with the Crimson Watch to deploy me as soon as possible. So here I am now.
Ekkens: This ore you brought from Cinderstone Moor is a key ingredient in creating my potent blend of gunpowder. Since the pirates looted all my workshops and stole my supplies, we had to start gathering all the components from scratch again.
Ekkens: As far as this Coded Message goes you found on the pirates, I unforunately am not a pirate myself, so I can't dicipher it. I suggest you take it back to the mainland and consult a language expert in Marianople. Good luck.
Officer Michaelson: Player, there you are! I was starting to worry about you. Did you find the owner of the Ynga II?
Officer Michaelson: Engineer Ekkens created this new cannon Morpheus wields? And he said he mixed Ashen Basalt from Cinderstone Moor into the gunpowder to increase its fire power? Incredible!
Officer Michaelson: What's this? A message written in pirate code? Let me take a look. Hmmm... to the west on Freedich, knock on the rock under a lonely tree. Does that make any sense to you?
Officer Michaelson: Either way, I must get back to work and try to recreate Ekken's construction at once. You should go to the Royal Palace and give King Andrion an update. A messenger arrived in your absence and said he is waiting for an update.
King Andrion: I was expecting you, Player! What news do you bring for me?
